The Medical Association of the State of Alabama is unified with county societies throughout the state. In other words, members of MASA must be a member of their county society before being accepted as a member of the state association. MASA also works closely with the American Medical Association as well as state and national specialty societies on a variety of issues.
The Alliance to the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (AMASA) is an affiliate group made up of physicians and physician spouses that assists MASA in its programs for the advancement of preventive medicine and securing adequate medical legislation. The Alliance promotes health education and supports health-related charitable endeavors.
