Domestic air medical transport cases average $20,000 and internationally, can exceed $100,000, but not as a member of Medjet. As a member, if you are ever hospitalized more than 150 miles away from home, and require inpatient hospital care, Medjet will arrange transportation to the hospital of your choice. Your modest membership fee is the only expenditure for this complete protection. There are no health questions to enroll for individuals up to the age of 75. (Diamond membership rates and program application are available for those age 75 up to the 85th birthday.)
Most importantly, unlike typical platinum card benefits and travel insurance coverage, Medjet lets you decide which hospital will be your destination. Other programs may require a life-threatening illness or injury, often have health questions and pre-existing condition exclusions to enroll, and may only transport the party to what they consider to be the “nearest appropriate facility.”
MASA has an established alliance with Medjet for its members and their families. Discounted annual membership rates are $215 for an individual and $335 for a family -- primary member, spouse/partner and up to five unmarried dependent children under age 23. Enrollment must occur prior to travel.
