Conflict of Interest Policies
The MASA Board of Censors formally adopted conflict of interest policies applicable to members of the Board of Censors and the elected and appointed officers of the Association. The policies represent a reaffirmation of the duty of loyalty of censors and officers to the Association and establish guidelines for disclosure of actual or potential conflicts of interest in transactions involving the Association.
The policies also stress the duty of censors and officers to support the goals and adopted polices of the Association in contacts with the media and in public forums when representing the Association. The policies recognize the MASA's unique relationship with the State Board of Medical Examiners and the State Committee of Public Health and requires censors acting in those capacities to become familiar with the Alabama Ethics law.
